How many photo attachments can I send?
You can attach up to 4 photos to each message.
If you would like to send more than 4 photos, simply create a new message and attach additional photos.
What guidelines do I need to follow when sending photo attachments?
Different establishments may have their own rules regarding photo attachments.
We recommend contacting the establishment directly if you are unsure whether a photo will be accepted.
All photo attachments must also comply with our Terms and Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy.
Please note that photo attachments may be subject to additional review by the prison service, establishment, or other authorised staff in accordance with their policies and procedures.
My photo attachment was accepted by eMates but not received by the recipient. Why?
Although a photo attachment may be accepted by the eMates system, the establishment may decide not to deliver it to the recipient.
If your recipient has not received an attachment, they may wish to speak with staff at the establishment for further information.
Why was my photo attachment rejected?
All photo attachments are automatically checked before they are processed.
Attachments may be rejected if they do not meet our Terms and Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy, or other service requirements.
If you believe your photo was rejected in error, please contact our Support Team and we will be happy to investigate further.
How are photo attachments delivered?
Photo attachments are delivered either in printed format or digitally, depending on the facilities available at the establishment.
Paper-based establishments
Up to 4 photos are printed on a single A4 page and included with your message.
Images are printed on an A4 sheet (approximately 3" x 5"). They are printed alongside your message and may appear in monochrome, depending on the equipment available at the establishment.
Kiosk or in-cell establishments
Photo attachments are delivered digitally and can be viewed by the recipient on their kiosk or in-cell device.
All photo attachments are subject to review before delivery and must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.
